A creative office space spreads a lot of positivity all around. It brings out the zeal in you and gives you good vibes so that you feel motivated at work. Looking for ideas to design your manager’s office space like a pro? Especially, do you get inspired by the offices spaces of Dumbledore from Harry Potter or Mr Burns from the Simpsons (#OnScreenOffices)? So, if you are planning to design office space for your boss similar to that as you see on screen, it is very important to keep in mind about their likes and dislikes before you plan it out. Utilizing the space in a right way and adding creativity to it is not always an easy task. Some of the most effective tips to design the office of your boss is as follows.

Go for high-quality ergonomic furniture

It is very important to go for furniture options that are sturdy and also comfortable at the same time. Go for furniture options that serve more than one purpose, made of high-quality wood or plywood and gives a positive fun look to an existing space. Furniture At Work offers you a range of high-quality office furniture that can cater to your varied needs. It is a perfect value for money as they go out of their way to provide you the best deals.

?Designing Your Bosses Office

Add a bit of greenery

If your boss is always in love with greens, it is time for you to introduce a splash of greenery all around his cabin. You can go for small potted plants or add a touch of greenery on the office desk. A small plant or an interesting bloom at one corner of the cabin will always touch his heart. Smell of fresh flowers in a flower vase is also a great idea to spruce up a boring space.

?Designing Your Bosses Office

Keep in mind about the storage quotient

The storage area of your boss’s cabin is something that you need to pay a close attention to. You need to place your cabinets and also go for tables that has more of drawers to it. If you are looking for more of brownie points go for embedded storage systems like filing cabinets and drawers. Storage pedestals and horizontal filing cabinets are always a great idea to reduce clutter at office.

?Designing Your Bosses Office

Play with the right pop of colors

Do not make a space too boring with one single color or too colorful at the same time. Go for the right balance of colors to make your space look interesting and also productive at the same time. The right pattern, color and even a sheen of paint can really affect how one works. So, pick up a decent primary color along with a feature and accent color to paint your boss’s cabin in an interesting way.

The Best Materials for Walkways and Paths_亚博亚洲官方投注-亚博365真正的官网(欢迎您) http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/26/the-best-materials-for-walkways-and-paths/ http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/26/the-best-materials-for-walkways-and-paths/#respond Mon, 25 Mar 2019 16:15:54 +0000 https://www.urdesignmag.com/?p=111406 When designing their backyard, a lot of homeowners focus on water features, outdoor cooking areas, and swimming pools.? While this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it does mean that essential landscaping features like walkways and paths often feel neglected.?Paths aren’t only necessary for making it easy to get from one place to another, but they can also help to create focal points in your yard.

Here, we’ve taken a look at some of the best materials you should consider for the walkways and paths in your yard.

Clay Bricks

Clay bricks have been used in landscaping for generations, and they’re still a popular choice today.? They’re an especially popular choice for historical homes and for those that want to add a bit of character to their space.? Traditional red bricks can add a beautiful contrast to a space, especially when surrounded by green grass and colorful plants.? They’re also relatively easy to lay DIY-style, as all you need to do is lay bricks on top of gravel; there’s no need for cement.? Red bricks are also less sensitive than other materials to cracks and damage, and if anything does happen to them, they can easily be popped out and replaced.

?The Best Materials for Walkways and Paths

Wax Polymer

Wax polymer is often used in golf course design and is an especially popular choice for large yards and gardens that feature sloped areas.? Wax polymer combines crushed stone or decomposed granite with an engineered polymer wax.? The final result is a dustless, durable, and aesthetically pleasing pathway that’s especially suitable for use in patios and nonlinear, sloped paths.?Wax polymer comes pre-mixed so installing it is simple; all you need to do is level the area, lay the material and compact it.? It can also be dug up and re-laid when required.? Wax polymer is also easy to maintain and won’t get muddy, which is why it’s such a popular material in golf courses.

There are two main reasons why homeowners should consider gravel for their pathways: it’s inexpensive and it’s easy to lay.? All you need to do is identify where you want your walkway to be located, lay down some landscaping material, and then cover this material with the gravel.? You’ll also want to lay some edging to ensure the gravel doesn’t leak out of place and onto your grass.? Plastic is the cheapest choice here, but you could also consider brick edging if you want your space to be more aesthetically pleasing.? Smaller gravel stones are the recommended option as they are easier and more comfortable to walk on.? Gravel also comes in a variety of colors so you can choose a color that fits in most with your current space.

Choosing a material for your walkways and paths is not something that should be treated as an afterthought.? After all, paths can do a lot for your space and make it more convenient to get around.? The three materials described above are all worthy choices!

Guests can explore one or all experiences during a single visit, losing her sense of time while sharing these joyful moments with friends and family. Forms of colored glass, terrazzo, and stainless steel act as a filter between dream and reality shifting the view from the streets of Suzhou into a colorful, elevated, floating lounge room, perfect for picture moments and people watching. Stainless steel colors and details give homage to the diners of 1950s creating a beautiful juxtaposition, which the design team calls “futuristnostalgia”.

Japanese Wearable Device Allows Fathers To Breastfeed Their Babies_亚博亚洲官方投注-亚博365真正的官网(欢迎您) http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/25/japanese-wearable-device-allows-fathers-to-breastfeed-their-babies/ http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/25/japanese-wearable-device-allows-fathers-to-breastfeed-their-babies/#respond Mon, 25 Mar 2019 11:27:16 +0000 https://www.urdesignmag.com/?p=111358 Japanese company Dentsu has conceived a device that allows fathers to breastfeed their babies. Recently unveiled at the?SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, the Father’s Nursing Assistant is a useful gadget that aims to allow fathers to help out with stressful tasks usually reserved for mothers. The amount of time infants in Japan spend sleeping is shorter compared to the rest of the world. Much of the parental stress and difficulties surrounding childrearing are related to feeding and sleeping, and generally the rate of participation by fathers tends to be low.

Breastfeeding is also effective at helping the parent sleep–a benefit that is currently skewed toward women. Focusing on breastfeeding, Dentsu aim to decrease the amount of burden on mothers and increase the amount of time infants sleep by enabling fathers to breastfeed. This is realized with the Father’s Nursing Assistant wearable device. Based on advice from pediatricians and babysitters, who say that babies tend to touch the breast with their hands when feeding and that the softness seems to sooth them, the product has been shaped to resemble a woman’s breasts.

As a result, a father can hold his baby in both of his arms, creating a deeper skin ship between them and enabling the baby to sleep peacefully in his father’s arms. Father’s Nursing Assistant has a tank for milk on one side and the breastfeeding system on the other. The device also senses the infant’s breastfeeding and sleep timing and is linked to an app that facilitates a better, visual understanding of the infant’s condition.

L’Abri Designs Minimalist Micro-Shelter In Québec’s Poisson Blanc Regional Park_亚博亚洲官方投注-亚博365真正的官网(欢迎您) http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/25/labri-designs-minimalist-micro-shelter-in-quebecs-poisson-blanc-regional-park/ http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/25/labri-designs-minimalist-micro-shelter-in-quebecs-poisson-blanc-regional-park/#respond Mon, 25 Mar 2019 10:47:21 +0000 https://www.urdesignmag.com/?p=111347 La Pointe is a ready-to-camp micro-shelter designed by Montreal-based firm L’Abri for the Poisson Blanc Regional Park located north of Ottawa. With its triangular geometry, the shelter offers a reinterpretation of the legendary A-frame popularized in North America in the 1950s. It was important for the designers to create a simple, almost sculptural structure that would provide functional and nature-oriented spaces. The small, off-the-grid building, capable of hosting two to four guests, was built on site by L’Abri’s construction team.

La Pointe, Parc du Poisson Blanc, Canada / L'Abri

A trail leads to the micro-shelter located ten minutes by foot from the reception. The interior spaces are minimal and bathed in natural light. A kitchenette and a table converting into an extra bed occupy the first floor. An inclined ladder leads to the bed, suspended in the cathedral ceiling by steel rods.

The focal point of the refuge is the large bay window that offers uninterrupted views of the forest and reservoir below. Leaning on the main volume, the covered terrace becomes the ideal place to continue to enjoy the outdoors when the temperature is less favorable.

Timeless, the steel roofing of the long roof is a nod to rural buildings from another era. The exterior cladding of natural cedar board and batten will take on a silvery hue over the years.

Studio Didoné Comacchio Restores 1900s Rural House In Venetian Countryside_亚博亚洲官方投注-亚博365真正的官网(欢迎您) http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/25/studio-didone-comacchio-restores-1900s-rural-house-in-venetian-countryside/ http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/25/studio-didone-comacchio-restores-1900s-rural-house-in-venetian-countryside/#respond Mon, 25 Mar 2019 10:08:30 +0000 https://www.urdesignmag.com/?p=111337 Italian architecture firm Studio Didoné Comacchio has recently refurbished a rural house in the Venetian countryside, Italy, built in the early 1900s and restored in the early 2000s. The project, designed for the functional needs and aesthetic tastes of the client, enhances the recycled materials used in the restoration, as the larch beams and the original structural walls in stone and brick, with the use of simple and elegant materials and shades, applied to pure geometric shapes.

Interior DR, Rosa, Italy / Studio Didoné Comacchio

The entrance space of the building overlooks a porch and acts as a filter that separates the living room from the kitchen and allows access to the sleeping area via the wooden staircase. The colors and materials used for the new elements are reduced to an essential vocabulary and specially designed to make the space bright. The paving surface, which extends across the entire ground floor is made of polished oriental stone and becomes the neutral base on which the various furnishing elements are inserted.

The dining/kitchen area is characterized by the large white kitchen and the solid oak table, the latter also used for the kitchen base and the chest. In the?living room, a background of OSB panels backlit by a led strip gives a soft and indirect light to the room. These panels, placed along the entire length of the historic stone wall, rest on the long concrete shelf that acts as a TV base.

Interior DR, Rosa, Italy / Studio Didoné Comacchio

On the upper floor, there is the master bedroom where the palette of the materials used on the ground floor is resumed, while the bathroom is covered with gray stone effect stoneware, also used on the floor to obtain a continuity of materials. The mono-materiality of this space is only interrupted by the long wooden shelf which, accentuating the longitudinally of this space, extends towards the large niche shower.

Thomas Heatherwick Speaks About The Vessel In New Video_亚博亚洲官方投注-亚博365真正的官网(欢迎您) http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/22/thomas-heatherwick-speaks-about-the-vessel-in-new-video/ http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/22/thomas-heatherwick-speaks-about-the-vessel-in-new-video/#respond Fri, 22 Mar 2019 14:10:00 +0000 https://www.urdesignmag.com/?p=111329 The newly opened Vessel is a new type of public landmark – a 16-storey circular climbing frame, with 2,465 steps, 80 landings and views across the Hudson River and Manhattan. It is the central feature of the main public square in the Hudson Yards development, one of the largest real estate projects in American history, which is transforming a former rail yard in Manhattan’s Upper West Side into a completely new neighbourhood, with more than five acres of new public spaces and gardens.

Heatherwick Studio was asked to design a centrepiece for Hudson Yards, something that would welcome visitors into the heart of the district and create a new place to meet in Manhattan. Part of the challenge was to create something memorable that would not be overwhelmed by the surrounding cluster of towers, or the scale of the new public space above the train platform.

Exploring different possibilities, the team started to narrow the parameters: it should be a memorable single object, not a series of objects dispersed throughout the space; rather than an inert, static sculpture, it should be a social encounter, which encourages activity and participation – it should be fun.

?Vessel Public Landmark, New York, USA / Heatherwick Studio

By opening up voids between the steps to create a three- dimensional lattice, the public square could be stretched upwards, creating more than a mile of routes that could be explored in different ways. To create the continuous geometric pattern of the stepwell, with 154 interconnecting flights of stairs, the object had to be self-supporting – a discreet structural solution was required, which did not need additional columns and beams. This was resolved by inserting a steel spine between each pair of staircases, creating a natural division between ‘up’ and ‘down’. The raw welded steel of this structure is exposed to give the object clarity and integrity, and the underside of the staircases is clad in a deep copper-toned metal, setting them apart from the surrounding architecture.

?Vessel Public Landmark, New York, USA / Heatherwick Studio

Every element of the Vessel is bespoke, from the joints to the handrails. The 75 huge steel components were produced in Venice by specialist fabricator Cimolai, before being brought from Italy in six shipments, carried across the Hudson River by barge, and assembled on site in a process that took three years. Yet despite the size of the Vessel, it has been designed at a human scale, to be climbed, explored and enjoyed by New Yorkers and visitors – a simple structure, animated by people and the reflections of the square beneath.

Dodi Moss Teams Up With Edoardo Tresoldi To Realize The Italian Pavilion For Expo 2020 Dubai_亚博亚洲官方投注-亚博365真正的官网(欢迎您) http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/22/dodi-moss-teams-up-with-edoardo-tresoldi-to-realize-the-italian-pavilion-for-expo-2020-dubai/ http://365BET.ROCKS/2019/03/22/dodi-moss-teams-up-with-edoardo-tresoldi-to-realize-the-italian-pavilion-for-expo-2020-dubai/#respond Fri, 22 Mar 2019 12:04:32 +0000 https://www.urdesignmag.com/?p=111320 Genoa-based design studio Dodi Moss has revealed its proposal for the Italian Pavilion of Expo 2020 Dubai, designed in collaboration with artist Edoardo Tresoldi. A response to the theme of ‘Beauty unites people’ the project features an emotional path through a layering of transparent, material and vegetable elements. The third place entry manifests as a set of large architectural elements that evoke the styles of the palaces and courtyards of Italian architecture through antiquity. These elements are expressed as a ghostly subtraction from a volume of transparent, metal mesh. Repeated cuts and volumetric decompositions accompany visitors on an ephemeral, tactile, and visual journey.

?Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai / Dodi Moss

“The stratification between transparent, material and vegetable elements -the designers write-codifies some sort of ruin of memory that refers to the continuous synthesis of the past as the deep root of our work today,” ?explain the designers. “In this sense, the Pavilion proposes not only the Italian point of view, but the awareness of the Italian identity as a stratified entity that has its roots in a millenary cultural history.”

An architectural body, shifting from the given lot, is composed of two complementary identities: a transparent volume, a pure structural element, in which references to architectural archetypes stratify impalpably, and a solid, material pedestal, in which all the functions of the pavilion, which constitutes its opaque imprint, are accommodated.

?Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai / Dodi Moss

If on the outside the volume shaped by man is clearly visible, on the inside the architectural lines disappear completely to be covered by vegetation, water, metal mesh and glass, which form an enveloping and suspended environment. Transparent architecture is pure structural substance, expressed through the lightness of the material and the use of Italian architectural archetypes, the pedestal is its opaque imprint. The two elements are complementary and present each other as negative.?The pedestal gradually rises to a height, shaping a material shell that jealously guards the garden, making it visible only in part from the outside, and placing itself beneath the majestic transparent metal mesh structures that evoke the environments and vaults of Italian courtyards and palaces.

?Italian Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai / Dodi Moss

The fusion between the materic and ethereal elements gives life to the large central spaces-the Prologue and the Square-which, pervaded by water and the garden, key elements of the great tradition of the Italian Gardens, constitute the evocative and functional fulcrum of the project.?The Pavilion is a symphonic place where nature and architecture converse-following the original definition of garden-composing a formal and geometric space: it is on transparent architecture that vegetation develops and takes shape. The wire mesh structure determines the reading of the space within a unitary tale in which the two worlds elegantly blend.
